A seemingly simple and innocuous stomach ache led Sékou Amadou Touré to follow in the footsteps of Doctor Hamadou Lamarana Keita from the Deydey Health Center in Bailobaya in the territorial jurisdiction of the DPS of Dubreka.

Without knowing that for the young boy it is a descent into hell that is beginning. In his childhood words he recounted his misadventure:
“I was in good health and was standing on two legs when I had a visibly harmless stomach ache, I was sent to Doctor Keita who gave me some sedatives, adding that if the pain persists that I should come back for a surgical intervention… “

According to the child and his family, the doctor refused to take charge of the operation before the fees were deposited and had to struggle for almost 7 hours before taking charge, while the money came.

“When my aunt finally made the deposit, after 7 hours of waiting, he picked me up and when I woke up I wanted to go home, he released us and when the urge to go urinate took over, I tried to get up and realized that I couldn’t because the whole lower part of my body was no longer responding…”

In his defense, Doctor Keita reacting to a call from a relative of the victim invokes two pathologies diagnosed at the same time:
“He had neurological signs and appendicitis is always a life-threatening emergency. Between two illnesses, you have to choose the lesser but he had a nerve problem at the root level, scientifically there is no link between the two illnesses”

A medical report had been produced by a local medical authority, Professor Abass Fodé Cissé, but Doctor Keita seems to cast doubt on this document, particularly on a certain medical logic: “I saw his report which is, moreover, questionable when trying to make the link between paralysis and appendectomy…”

In the family of the little victim, only the survival of the child and its future seems to worry the great aunt: “My question simply concerns the fate of the child, especially since the doctor never tried to find out what ‘it happened to him. My expenses on this child, his condition I cannot evaluate with precision but it is from God and I rely on it but how will he survive? Even the sanitary diaper he is obliged to wear, he needs help to remove it…”
