Chennai: Chief Minister Stalin has written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi urging medical students returning from Ukraine to take steps to continue their studies in India.

In the letter, he said: We recognize the efforts of the Central Government in rescuing Indian students trapped in the war. At the same time, I would like to draw the attention of the Prime Minister to the need to address the uncertainty that thousands of students face in continuing their studies.

Since the beginning of the war, more than 1,200 medical students have returned to Tamil Nadu. The remaining students will also return. The current situation has disrupted the studies of those students.

In the current situation in Ukraine, it is not possible to continue studying there. This uncertainty will persist even after the cessation of hostilities, until the universities return to normalcy. Therefore, the Prime Minister should intervene in this matter and bring it to the attention of the National Medical Council and the concerned Ministries.

The students should be directed to pursue their studies in medical colleges in India and find appropriate means. In this connection, the Government of Tamil Nadu will extend its unwavering support to the efforts of the Central Government, the Chief Minister said.
