JAKARTA – Chairman (Ketum) of the Nahdlatul Ulama Board ( PBNU ), KH Yahya Cholil Staquf or Gus Yahya, visited the State Palace. The arrival of Gus Yahya was to meet President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) .

Gus Yahya said he arrived before the time of his meeting with Jokowi which was scheduled for 20.00 WIB, Monday (4/9/2023) evening, so the wait was a bit long.

Gus Yahya met Jokowi to deliver an invitation so that the number one person in Indonesia would be willing to attend the opening of the National Ulama Conference (Munas) and the NU Major Conference (Konbes).

Even though President Jokowi was undergoing 13 meetings, Gus Yahya thanked Jokowi for being willing to meet him.

“I thank the President very much because today he is actually very busy, 13 meetings,” said Gus Yahya in the courtyard of the Palace lobby.

“I still have the time to find time because PBNU’s needs are also very urgent regarding the opening of the National Conference, the Alim Ulama National Conference and the Nahdlatul Ulama Big Conference,” he added.

Gus Yahya said that President Jokowi was willing to attend the National Conference and Konbes. For this reason, he said the opening of the show would be held on September 18, 2023.

“Earlier I delivered a letter of request for the President to open the NU National Conference and Konbes. And Alhamdulillah he confirmed, confirmed that he would be present on September 18 to officially open the National Alim Ulama Conference and the NU Konbes at the Al Hamid Islamic Boarding School, Cilangkap,” he said.

Apart from discussing the invitation, Gus Yahya ensured that there were no other discussions between him and the former Mayor of Solo. He was only joking, that he was joking a little so that Jokowi would relax a little after the agenda of the 13 meetings he had lived.
