The participants in this meeting, initiated under the theme ”The epic of the Revolution of the King and the People: events and meanings”, in partnership with the Provincial Delegation of National Mutual Aid of Guersif and the Provincial Directorate of Youth, Culture and Communication, stressed that the celebration of this historic revolution consecrates the values of citizenship, particularly among the rising generations, and highlights the bonds of unwavering loyalty between the Throne and the People.
They returned to the historical context of this grandiose epic, considered as the spark which fanned the flame of national resistance and helped to accelerate the departure of the colonizer.
This is an event that marked a milestone in the process of the national struggle to confront the aggressions of the occupying forces and free itself from the yoke of colonialism, they noted, emphasizing the mobilization of an entire people behind its Sovereign for the recovery of freedom and independence.
The speakers, who also discussed the political and objective reasons that led to the Revolution of the King and the People, recalled the major effects of this event on the liberation of the homeland and the return from exile of the Father of the Nation, the late HM Mohammed V and members of the illustrious royal family.
In this regard, the head of the Space of Historical Memory of Resistance and Liberation in Guersif, Bilal El-Berouz, noted in a speech on the occasion that this event constitutes a “unique example” in the national struggle for liberation and independence, illustrating the strong symbiosis between the people and the glorious Alawite throne.
For his part, the provincial delegate of National Mutual Aid, Rachid Hamzaoui, indicated in a statement to MAP that the organization of such meetings dealing with Moroccan history and civilization allows transmitting to current and future generations the values and rich lessons of the history of the national struggle for freedom, independence and unity.
