Foreign Minister Dr. Foreign Minister of Antigua and Barbuda, who is on a five-day visit to Bangladesh, met Hasan Mahmud. P. Seth Green.
On Sunday (April 14) afternoon, he met with the minister at the Rashtriya Guest House Padma in the capital.
Regarding the meeting, the foreign minister told reporters that various aspects of bilateral relations and multilateral cooperation were discussed. Their tourism sector is highly developed. We have talked about the possibility of technology and training cooperation in this sector through ‘Technical Cooperation’ with the Department of Tourism.
Dr. Hasan said, pharmaceutical products of Bangladesh are exported to 140 countries of the world including America-Canada-European Union, they have also been offered to import them. Besides, we have discussed the import of ready-made garments, ceramics, leather products from this country.
If visas are free for Bangladeshis in their country, we can also consider the same arrangement for them on ‘reciprocity’ basis – said the minister.
Foreign Minister of Antigua and Barbuda E. P. Seth Green told reporters about the possibility of their country’s world famous cricketer Vivian Richards visiting Bangladesh.
Mohammad Zahirul Islam, managing director of the country’s industrial group PHP Family, and officials and business leaders of Antigua and Barbuda and officials including Director General of the North America Wing of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Khandaker Masudul Alam, Public Relations Officer of the Minister’s Office, Mir Akram Uddin Ahmad, joined the meeting with Minister Green.
The Foreign Minister of Antigua and Barbuda is scheduled to meet with State Minister for Commerce Ahsanul Islam Titu and FBCCI representatives as well as visit various industrial establishments in Dhaka and Chittagong before leaving Dhaka on Thursday.
