Meetings need restraint: HC dismisses petition

Kochi: The High Court has strongly criticized the petitioner in a public interest petition seeking restraint of cultural, political and social gatherings in the state. Judges are no puppet. Justice Vinod Chandran reprimanded the court for not wasting its time for cheap fame. The court dismissed the petition.

Arun Raj, a native of Thiruvananthapuram, came to the court demanding that more than 50 people should not be allowed to gather ahead of the CPM state convention. Kasargod: The state government was required to implement the January 21 High Court order banning more than 50 meetings in the state.
