Caixa Econômica Federal announced this Friday (18) that the Mega-Sena will no longer be drawn twice a week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Starting next week, there will be three draws: on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
The new system will come into effect next Tuesday (22), in contest 2623, with games being able to be played after this Saturday’s (19) calculation.
With this change, Caixa also announced that it will no longer carry out thematic mega-weeks, when three draws were held in the week. They were instituted in December 2010 to adapt the Mega da Virada contest number to the end 0 or 5, which have accumulated values.
Of the 11 mega-weeks scheduled for 2023, six have already taken place.
This Saturday’s draw (19), in contest 2622, has a main prize estimated at R$ 4 million.
The single bet for the Mega-Sena costs BRL 5 and can be placed until 7 pm (Brasília time) on the day of the draw at a lottery house or over the internet, through the Loterias Caixa application or the Caixa lotteries website.
