Speaking to Eleni, Dora Anagnostopoulou said:

“Our starting point is to tell stories and today we have a man who has many to tell, Giorgos Dalaras. Giorgos Dalaras was a myth for me, so always when you meet someone up close there is anxiety and a shyness. We were given a chance to see who the Dallara man is. We went back to his childhood.”

Dora Anagnostopoulou added about the interview:

“I am left with tenderness and a man who grows and the essence of his wisdom changes. For many years he wanted to focus on his art but he is a man who has anxiety. Struggle for the future of children and feels the weight of responsibility”.

Exclusive quote

Among other things, Giorgos Dalaras refers to his difficult childhood, his relationship with his mother and his alcoholic father.

“My mother lived a bad life, she was disabled and she used to call me to her to scold me, she couldn’t stand up. My mother after the war had to be separated from one of her two children. There were educational orphanages abroad and I had to go there.”

He also talks about his brother Christos who few knew.

“I was 8 years old but my brother was approaching 10, so my mother sent her eldest child – from then on her life was a tragedy, she listened to songs and cried. When Christos left, my life left, I saw him every two years together with other children who came and for me life and the world changed”.
