Megan Fox Set to Voice Vampire Nitara in New Mortal Kombat Video Game
September 6, 2023 – Megan Fox, known for her acting roles in blockbuster films, is lending her voice to the latest installment of the Mortal Kombat video game franchise. NetherRealm Studios and Warner Bros. Games announced on Wednesday that Fox will portray the character Nitara, a vampire in the Outworld realm.
In a teaser released for the game, Fox describes Nitara as an intriguing character. “She comes from this weird realm. She’s a type of vampire creature,” explains Fox. “She’s evil but she’s also good. She’s trying to save her people.”
Nitara made her debut in the Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance video game back in 2002. Described as a “manipulative vampire,” Nitara’s goal is to separate her home from the Outworld. Fox expresses her excitement about the role, saying, “I really like her, she’s a vampire, which resonates for whatever reason. It’s cool to be in the game because I’m not really just voicing [the character] she’s kind of… me.”
The highly anticipated Mortal Kombat 1 video game is set to be released on September 19 for Playstation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Fans can now pre-order the game through Amazon and Best Buy.
In addition to Nitara’s return, Mortal Kombat 1 will feature reimagined versions of iconic characters. Warner Bros. Games President David Haddad shares his excitement about the game, stating, “With Mortal Kombat 1, we are bringing a reimagined universe to the legendary franchise which has captivated gamers for more than 30 years and continues to top itself.”
Alongside the game, Warner Bros. Games will introduce the new Kameo Fighter system, featuring a unique roster of partner characters. The Standard Edition of Mortal Kombat 1 will be priced at $69.99, while the premium edition will be available for $109.99. A special Kollector’s Edition will also be released for $249.99.
