Initially, Megawati felt uneasy in her speech when the issue emerged that there was a party who wanted to take over the position of General Chairperson of the PDI Perjuangan.

The fifth President of the Republic of Indonesia responded to the takeover issue and then expressed his desire to become the General Chair of the PDI Perjuangan.

“As soon as I heard that it seemed like PDI Perjuangan had taken it, I wanted to be the general chairperson again,” said Megawati, greeted by applause from the event participants, Wednesday.

Megawati then felt that at her current age of 77, she needed to retire and spend time with her family.

He admitted that his desire to retire had been communicated to the Secretary General of the PDI Perjuangan, Hasto Kristiyanto.
