Mejse Birkmose’s parents always knew she was different. She never settled into primary school, and for six years she taught at home. She is part of a special group, the highly gifted, who have an IQ of over 130 points. But the burden on the sharp brain is small at times, a source of loneliness that has only been extinguished for a year in post-secondary school. Because it can be difficult to be in the world when you experience it with 50 antennas instead of three.
