Accompanied by the SIAM Commissioner, Jaouad Chami, representatives of local authorities and a large delegation of senior officials from the ministry, the Minister of Agriculture visited, on this occasion, the different spaces and the ten poles around which this 15th edition will be organized.

In a statement to the press, Mr. Sadiki emphasized the importance of SIAM, which is “today the leading trade fair in Africa and one of the most important in the world”, adding that since its creation, this trade fair has given itself the mission of “supporting agriculture in its economic, societal and climatic transitions”.

The government official said that the 15th SIAM, which is set up as a “crossroads for the development of the sector and good practices”, will host nearly 40 conferences and is expected to welcome 900,000 visitors, 1,400 exhibitors and 68 participating countries, noting a “strong African presence” within the framework of the partnership agreements concluded by Morocco with many countries on the continent.

For his part, the SIAM Commissioner, Jaouad Chami, indicated that the development work is continuing in accordance with the schedule agreed with all the partners mobilized to ensure the delivery of the 15th SIAM site on time.

“In addition to its highly anticipated post-pandemic comeback, this edition is of particular importance,” he noted, noting “that it will, in fact, bring reflections and innovations that translate and reinforce the new strategic designs of this now unmissable meeting of the national, continental and international agricultural scene.”

The 15th edition of SIAM will be held under the theme “Generation Green: for sustainable food sovereignty”, and with the United Kingdom as guest of honor. This choice reflects, according to the organizers, “the excellence of the ancestral relations between Rabat and London” and will offer participants “a great opportunity to discover and explore the richness and diversity of British agriculture”.
