Hollywood star Mel Gibson and screenwriter Rosalind Ross have ended their nine-year relationship, confirming the split to a U.S. magazine. The couple, who share an eight-year-old son, Lars, separated approximately a year ago.
“While it is sad to end this chapter of our lives, we are blessed with a wonderful son and will continue to be the best parents possible to him,” Gibson and Ross said in a joint statement.
Gibson’s Expanding Family Tree
The 69-year-old actor and director and the 35-year-old Ross met through mutual friends in 2014. Their son, Lars, arrived in 2017, just before Gibson received an Oscar nomination for directing the war drama “Hacksaw Ridge.”
Gibson is a father to nine children. He shares seven children with his former wife, Robyn Moore, and has a daughter with musician Oksana Grigorieva. Currently, the actor is working on a sequel to his biblical film, “The Passion of the Christ.”
