Melakalam love… Pampalli and Surabhi as a couple at IFFK stage | newly married couple at IFFK 2022

Thiruvananthapuram: The love that blossomed at IFFK finally came true during the fair itself. Young director Pampally and Surabhi, an officer in the Kerala Health Service, have finally brought six years of love to Mangalyam. After the wedding which took place at Kallambalam JJ Auditorium, the two who arrived at Tagore Theater, the main venue of the fair in their wedding attire, were received by the Academy officials under the leadership of Ranjith, Chairman of the Film Academy.

Six years ago, Surabhi, a native of Pampalli Kallambalam, a native of Kozhikode’s Pantirangaon, met at the IFFK stage. Realizing that their love for cinema and their ideals of life were similar, they decided to live together. Watched films together at all IFFKs. In 2018, the National Film Award for Best Debut Director went to the film ‘Sinjar’ directed by Pampalli. The film was in the unscripted ‘Jasari’ language of Lakshadweep. In the same year, Sinjar also won the National Award for Best Film in Jasari Language.

When the marriage was fixed with the consent of the relatives, both of them decided that the marriage would be enough during IFFK. That’s how the wedding took place during this year’s festival.

Kerala Film Academy Chairman Ranjith and Secretary C. Ajo and Vice Chairman Premkumar accepted. Cake was cut at the festival office and happiness was shared. Then at 3.30 both went to Tagore theater together to watch the Italian movie ‘Load of the Ants’ directed by Gilani Alinio. There was a flood of delegates in front of the theater to congratulate the two who had seen the film. IFFK
