She writes about her husband in unusually personal words. The perpetrator was “a monster” and only saw the former US president “as an inhuman political machine”. He tried to “extinguish Donald’s passion – his laughter, his ingenuity, his love of music and his inspiration. The core facets of my husband’s life – his human side – were buried under the political machine. Donald, the generous and caring man with whom I got through the best and the worst of times,” said Melania.
