(ANSA) – BEIJING, JULY 28 – “Italian business in China continues to do its part. I won’t dwell on specific examples, but I would like to highlight one fact: Chinese investments in Italy are now about a third of Italian investments in China. It’s a gap that I would like to be filled in the right way.” This was stated by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni in her speech at the Italy-China business forum organized on the occasion of her visit to Beijing. Meloni had previously met with Chinese Prime Minister Li Qiang. The business forum, Meloni said, serves to “give another signal of the mutual interest there is in implementing and also better balancing our investments, our trade.” It is therefore necessary to “strengthen our partnership by reasoning on the strengths and weaknesses, on what has worked and what has not” and “to do so with the common goal of making trade relations increasingly fair and advantageous for all.” (ANSA).
