Events for the anniversary of “Memory of the Woman of Pindos, officers K. Davakis, A. Diakos and all the heroes of the epic of 1940” are organized by the Region of Epirus and the Municipality of Konitsa on Thursday, July 20, in the Local Community of Fourkas.
The events begin at 10 am with the raising of the Greek flag at the “Prophet Ilias” hill of Fourka, where there will be a Doxology, a memorial service, the laying of wreaths and the crowning of the busts of Kon/nos Davakis and Alexandros Diakos. At 10.30 in the morning there will be a short topographic briefing by an officer of the VIII Division and then there will be a speech. At 11:30 in the morning, the guests will go to the village square, where they will be welcomed by the mayor of Konitsa, Nikolaos Exarchou, and a small reception will be held by the Region of Epirus and the Municipality of Konitsa.
