A group tried to attack Military Police (PM) agents during an approach in Santos, on the coast of São Paulo. In the video, it is possible to observe a group that attacks the MPs, with offenses and attempts at aggression.
According to the Department of Public Safety (SSP), the agents were on patrol on Thursday 26th, in Parque Roberto Mário Santini, when they noticed that a young man had fled when he noticed the team approaching.
He was approached shortly afterwards by the police. Still according to the PM, other men tried to intervene in the police action, cursing and attacking the police, while also encouraging other people to take part in the attacks against the PMs.
In the images, it is possible to observe that the confusion begins with offenses and verbal attacks, while the police officers approach the suspect. In a few seconds, a man in a red shirt goes up to the police, tries to kick and attack one of them, who defends himself.
The PM reported that the agents involved in the case requested reinforcements to maintain order and, subsequently, two of them were arrested for contempt of authority. A 22-year-old man was arrested and a 17-year-old minor was apprehended. Both were taken to the 7th Police District of Santos. According to the SSP, the case was registered as contempt by the Judiciary Police Center.
