Mental health and gender, the book Malestamos and World Mental Health Day, protagonists of the new Encuentro Magazine
The publication also includes reports on all the activities, conferences and events organized by the associative movement and the Confederation for World Mental Health Day 2022, and reflects the change in the strategic cycle through the section ‘The voice of MENTAL HEALTH SPAIN’, by the hand of its executive president, and with a mention of the Strategic Conference held last December.
The third issue of 2022 of the Encuentro Magazine, which has the support of the ONCE Foundation and the Ministry of Social Rights and the 2030 Agenda, is now available on the SALUD MENTAL ESPAÑA website. In this new edition, the main story focuses on the actions promoted by the Confederation within the framework of World Mental Health Day 2022, celebrated on October 10 of each year, and which on this occasion had child and adolescent mental health as their main theme.
The section “mental health up to date» is dedicated to the conference ‘Women, mental suffering and suicide: a feminist perspective’, organized by the Canary Islands Institute for Equality in October last year and which brought together experts, artists and activists to talk about mental health and gender.
Inside the section of news about the Confederacythe magazine collects the Conference ‘Generate FUTURE’, carried out in collaboration with the Royal Board on Disability; the last tour of the theater work Click!, promoted by the Confederation within the framework of the ‘Work without masks, employ without barriers’ campaign and thanks to funding from the Ministry of Social Rights and Agenda; the second state edition of the PROSPECT training courses, in which 39 people with their own experience, family members and professionals participated; and the Strategic conferences of the associative movement, a long-awaited and essential event to guide the work of the Confederation in the coming years.
In the section dedicated to entities of the associative movement, the different activities, conferences and acts that were promoted from the different territories on the occasion of the World Mental Health Day 2022.
In section “A day in», we visited a refugee center and we interviewed a woman whose story reveals the difficulties faced by those fleeing violence, threats, etc. due to political, religious, sexual orientation, etc.
Marta Carmona and Javier Padilla, authors of the book ‘we upset’put the focus on the section «Talking with» about living conditions and the way of social organization and how they affect people’s mental health, proposing measures such as income egalitarianism, the figure of the universal caregiver or putting psychotherapy at the service of the collective.
Finally, Celeste Mariner Zambranaexecutive director of the Confederation, takes stock in «The voice of MENTAL HEALTH SPAIN» of the 2019-2022 strategic cycle.
