SALUD MENTAL ESPAÑA has been one of the award-winning entities, as it has received the National Human Rights Disability Award, for his project ’40 years for mental health, for rights, for you’. The jury has assessed “the fruitful trajectory of this civil society organization in defending the human rights of people with mental health problems”. Likewise, value has been placed on the State Observatory of Mental Health, Rights and Equality, a pioneering space for reporting, reflection, information and defense of the human rights of people with mental health problems. Their studies for the dissemination and dissemination of mental health and the guides for communication about mental health in the fight against stigma have also been valued, from a community and person-centered approach.

Last year 2023, the SPAIN MENTAL HEALTH Confederation celebrated its 40th anniversary under the motto “40 years for mental health, for rights, for you”. She did so by claiming the need to defend the rights of people with mental health problems and increase resources so that the public health system can offer them adequate care, based on the community level. To commemorate these four decades, the Confederation highlighted the history of the associative movement and its contribution to the progress of mental health, as well as the generational relief of the people who will lead the association movement in the future. In the category of accessibility and universal design of municipalities, this award has been granted to the Cartagena City Council for its project: ‘Inclusive Cartagena’, for integrating universal accessibility into the plans, projects and regulations of this municipality. The winning candidacy in the Labor Inclusion modality has been the Spanish Association of Supported Employment (AESE), for its project ‘Supported Employment as a basis for the labor inclusion of people with disabilities and a fundamental part of their life projects’ , aimed at the professional incorporation of people with disabilities with special difficulties in accessing the ordinary labor market. In the inclusive sport category, the award went to the Also Foundation, for ‘Inclusive Schools of the Also Foundation’ and its valuable contribution to sport without barriers. In this category it has also been decided to give a special mention to the RUN FOR YOU project Athletics without labels, athletics for everyone, for promoting inclusive sport and overcoming economic barriers in Paralympic athletics, providing adapted athletics chairs and providing follow-up. with specialized coaches, which has allowed athletes with disabilities to stand out in national championships. The Queen Letizia National Disability Award for inclusive culture has been awarded to the Danza Down Association for its project ‘Inclusion through dance’, which pursues the social, labor and cultural inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities through dance , enhancing their training, development and personal autonomy. In the inclusive education modality, the ruling was in favor of the Obra Social y Monte de Piedad Foundation of Madrid for the ‘Educating without barriers from the cradle’ project, which supports inclusion from the earliest ages and favors the comprehensive development of the students regardless of their social or personal conditions.
