MK Limor Son Har-Malech of Otzma Yehudit expressed her satisfaction on Twitter regarding the decision to allow Amiram Ben Oliel, a prisoner convicted of murdering members of the Devabsha family in Kfar Duma, to leave solitary confinement and celebrate Seder night with other prisoners in the Torah wing. In response, MK Merav Cohen Mish Atid criticized Son Har-Malech, calling Ben Oliel a murderer and questioning the ethics of the Ben Gabir party, of which Son Har-Malech is a member. The decision to release Ben Oliel from solitary confinement on Seder night was made by the prison service and the general security service, and upon completion of the holiday, Ben Oliel will be returned to isolation. The Honnu organization welcomed the decision to ease Ben Oliel’s imprisonment conditions, but called for full justice to be served when he is eventually released.

“Good news before the holiday. After 7 whole years in solitary confinement, Amiram will be able to conduct the seder in the Torah wing together with other prisoners, and will be able to hold prayers in the minyan. This is a small bright spot for Amiram and his family who are waiting for a fair trial and the disqualification of the confession obtained through shocking torture. I hope that the next holiday Yehgog Amiram will be celebrated as a free son,” Sun Har-Malech wrote.
MK Merav Cohen quoted the post and replied: “The murderer of the Devabsha family from the village of Duma, yes? This vile person murdered an entire family in their sleep. Including a one and a half year old baby. This is a Knesset member in Israel. This is the Ben Gabir party, which Netanyahu has become a strategic partner of Likud. Where will we send the shame.”
Earlier it was reported here that Amiram Ben Oliel, who was convicted of murdering members of the Devabsha family in Kfar Duma and is serving a prison sentence, will leave for the first holiday from solitary confinement in Eshel prison and will perform the Seder night in the Torah wing of Ayalon prison.
The decision was made in joint consultation of the prison service and the general security service. At the end of the holiday, Ben Oliel will be returned to isolation.
The Honnu organization responded: “We welcome the decision to ease even a little of Amiram’s illogical imprisonment conditions. The decision comes against the background of a determined struggle by many caring citizens who tirelessly devote themselves to the fight for justice for Amiram. Full justice will come when Amiram is released to his home with the help of God soon”.
