Mercadona and Caprabo participate in Operation Kilo organized by the Spanish Federation of Food Banks (FESBAL) from May 29 to June 4 which aims to minimize the situation of shortage of basic basket products in which the Food banks.
The two supermarkets collaborate to try to obtain the necessary stock that guarantee a daily meal to more than 36,300 users of food banks in the province of Girona. In Girona, the 28 Mercadona stores are participating, in addition to the Caprabo establishments.
Supermarket customers can make financial contributions at the time of purchase. With the contributions received, the Food Banks will take care of
distribute products, both basic and fresh, fruit and vegetables, to family units and people in vulnerable situations.
