After a stint on loan at Nottingham Forest during the second half of last season, Keylor Navas has regained his place in the PSG squad since resuming training in mid-July. Despite everything, the Costa Rican goalkeeper should not drag on in the capital. Luis Enrique confirmed Gianluigi Donnarumma as starter in the Parisian cage during the Asia tour and against Lorient, while Spanish goalkeeper Arnau Tenas (22) arrived free from FC Barcelona. The young Catalan ticked all the boxes in the eyes of the sporting director Luis Campos who was looking for a goalkeeper profile n°1 bis, likely to compete with the Italian.

“I am delighted with the level of my goalkeepers, said Luis Enrique after the draw against FC Lorient (0-0). Everyone has a different profile and role. The transfer window remains open and we will try to take advantage of it in both directions. We are satisfied with the level and performance of our three goalkeepers. In this context, there is little room left for Keylor Navas, whose future in the capital seems blocked.

A track considered serious

The 36-year-old Costa Rican has a few touches on the market, especially on the side of Saudi Arabia. The Al-Hilal club, who have just got their hands on Neymar and are still hoping to sign Marco Verratti, are particularly interested in the three-time Champions League winner with Real Madrid.

Portuguese coach Jorge Jesus has validated the goalkeeper’s profile and would welcome the signing of Navas in his squad, which has been strengthened with the arrivals of Kalidou Koulibaly, Sergej Milinković-Savić and Malcom. The track leading to the Saudi club is in any case considered serious and a departure by the end of the transfer window – September 8 in Saudi Arabia – is clearly not to be excluded. Arrived in the summer of 2019, Keylor Navas still has a year of contract with PSG.
