It had been in the works for many weeks, it is now confirmed: the Argentinian striker of PSG Mauro Icardi has signed up definitively for Galatasaray. Loaned to the Istanbul club during the 2022-2023 financial year, the former Inter number nine had revived, scoring 23 goals in 26 appearances for the Turkish champions. Undesirable since the arrival of Luis Campos as sports director of PSG, Icardi was part of the “loft”, made up of players pushed out by the Parisian board, which Kylian Mbappé joined this weekend.
The 30-year-old Argentinian will sign for three years with the Turkish team, for a sum of around 10 million euros, far from the 50 million spent by PSG in the summer of 2020 to exercise his option to buy from Inter Milan. Author of 38 goals in 92 appearances in the jersey of the Ile-de-France club, Icardi will have spent three seasons in Paris. First impacting by his quality of surface fox and his sense of goal during his first season, he ended up sinking, between extra-sporting controversies and physical difficulties.
