Many rumors have been circulating in the sports press in recent days. It is now official. The Belgian club Royal Excelsior Virton announces, this Thursday, its takeover by N’Golo Kanté in a communiqué. “The Royal Excelsior Virton football club officially passes from the hands of Flavio Becca to those of N’Golo Kanté”.

Since 2018, the club has been controlled by Luxembourg businessman Flavio Becca, who already owns Swift Hesperange. “Flavio is obviously extremely happy to be able to hand over the keys of the club to N’Golo Kanté, a high-class player, not only for his footballing qualities but also and above all for his unanimously recognized human qualities”, can we, again, read in the RE Virton press release.

The winner of the 2021 Champions League with Chelsea, who has just settled in Saudi Arabia, at Al-Ittihad, will therefore put on a new hat. “He intends to continue the structuring of the club with a view to consolidating its foundations, stabilizing the staff and eventually reconnecting with the tradition of training RE Virton, via its Youth Academy. The club aims to establish its local roots with a view to becoming a driving force in football in Gaume and in the province of Luxembourg,” adds the Royal Excelsior Virton.

The transfer of power will be affective on July 1 and a press conference could be organized next week.
