Brake booster problem; Mercedes-Benz announces recall of 1 million older model cars
Mercedes to recall about 1 million older models worldwide: Mercedes-Benz on Saturday announced the recall of nearly one million older cars worldwide due to problems with the brake booster.
The ML, GL (PR164) and R-Glass (PR251) series models manufactured from 2004 to 2015 are affected by this brake booster issue. Of those, 70,000 cars are in Germany.
“In some of those vehicles, we found that the corrosion of the brake booster may be affected by enhanced corrosion in the joint area of the vehicle,” Mercedes-Benz said in a statement.
In addition, it may increase the brake pedal force and / or increase the stopping distance required to slow down the vehicle, Mercedes-Benz said.
The Mercedes-Benz recall is set to begin immediately.
