Mercedes-Benz is one of the most popular and well-known luxury car manufacturers. According to a recent report by the company, the sales rate for high-end luxury cars worth more than one crore has increased by 68 percent. This data was revealed in the survey from January to September this year.
Santhosh Iyer, the company’s vice president of sales and marketing, said, “We have sold 11,469 cars from January to September this year. This sales rate has increased from last year. And only 30 percent of high-end luxury vehicles have been sold. This shows that the demand and market for luxury cars in India is increasing,” he said.

Santosh Iyer will take over as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Mercedes-Benz India from January 1, 2023. The market for luxury cars has been hit hard by the arrival of affordable cars. But now a healthy change is taking place. People’s preference and demand for buying luxury cars has increased.
And it also shows that people’s economy has risen enough to afford such luxury cars. And the current 30% growth will reach 40% very soon. Because we are yet to deliver 7000 reserved cars. After delivery of all these, the sales rate of high-end luxury cars will increase by almost 40%, he said.
Luxury SUVs include GLE, 450, GLE 400d, GLS, GLS Maybach and sedans S-class, S-class maybach, G-class, AMG E53, E63 AMG and electric sedans Sedan SWS, EWS53 AMG. More than one crore are priced and sold. And the much-anticipated launch of the electric sedan EQS 580 has already received over 300 bookings.
Commenting on this, Santhosh Iyer said that the major problem in delivering high-end cars to customers is their inventory. We are not able to deliver the customer orders. There are various regulations for importing these. But anyway we are making various plans to increase the sales rate of premium cars in India as well as globally. Currently, our full focus is on increasing the sales rate of these high-end luxury cars.
