All-wheel drive Mercedes launches in Israel the GLC The new along with a new extended warranty program for4 years free of charge. In recent times it seems that all that are launched in Israel are electric vehicles, but the gasoline vehicle market is still alive and kicking. Mercedes has stated in the past that starting in 2029 all Mercedes models will be electric and until then gasoline vehicles will continue to arrive on the market.
Mercedes leads the luxury car market as it shows steady growth in sales. In 2020, the year of the Corona virus, the company sold 2749 vehicles, which was a decrease of 4 percent compared to the previous year. Then in 2021, 3401 vehicles were sold (an increase of 24% percent) and this year it shows another increase, an increase of 19% percent, with sales of 4049 vehicles. As part of the process to switch to electric vehicles, the variety of electrified models (plug-in and electric) is seen to only grow in the company. If in 2019 363 electrified vehicles were sold, in 2022 the company reached sales of 1528 electrified vehicles.
Today the company’s offering of electric cars includes the EQS SUV, EQS, EQE SUV, EQE, EQC, EQB and EQA series.
Obviously, the company still sells gasoline vehicles and is now launching the new GLC in Israel, which will come in three powertrain versions and a variety of trim levels. In terms of design, the GLC has a modern design line that maintains a balance between elegance and sportiness. The length has grown by 6 cm to 471.6 cm, with the exact proportions maintained by increasing the wheelbase by 1.5 cm to 289 cm. In addition, the volume of the trunk is 70 liters compared to the outgoing generation’s volume of 620 liters in the gasoline models.
The design of the passenger compartment is based on the interior design of the S-Class, while the dashboard is inspired by the world of aviation, and includes the MBUX system with a floating appearance and two color screens with extremely high resolution with the ability to be controlled by touch or a voice system. In terms of performance and efficiency, the new GLC is aerodynamic with an extremely low drag coefficient of 0.29CD, a significant improvement over the outgoing generation which recorded a figure of 0.31CD.
To this were added upgrades in side mirrors, air flow control, aerodynamic fins for the wheel arches, aerodynamic lower cladding and aerodynamic cladding for the advanced suspension set-up, with a completely new front suspension with four links per wheel and a multi-link rear suspension that sits on an isolated sub-chassis to reduce vibrations and road noise. The axle spreader has been increased by 6mm at the front and 23mm at the rear to improve stability.
The plug-in hybrid version of the Mercedes GLC is equipped with AIRMATIC active air suspensions that change the damping and braking levels depending on the road conditions and the selected driving mode/the aerodynamic upgrade allows to improve the efficiency of the propulsion system and achieve an extremely low noise signature in the passenger compartment.
Also, as part ofEngineering Package Fixed in the GLC300e model is an active rear steering system, in which at speeds above 60 km/h the rear wheels are turned in the direction of the turn to improve agility and provide improved stability in fast turns.
In terms of safety, all Mercedes models are equipped with a package Package Plus Assistance Driving, which includes all of Mercedes’ advanced safety systems. Advanced design of a body with high rigidity and absorption areas in combination with the passive protection system that includes the upgraded Pre Safe system in addition to the active protection system consists of safety and assistance systems for the driver that relies on a comprehensive system of cameras, radars and perimeter sensors.
In addition, as part of the warranty policy and the service experience, as a Mercedes car carrier, it goes out with an extended warranty for its customers. In this framework, starting from 1/1/23, it will offer an additional year of warranty at no cost. The fourth year of warranty includes all Mercedes models and is extended and full without exclusions up to 100,000 km.
