Colmobil Mercedes Launches in Israel the God- EQS – The new tram, which will be sold in parallel with the S Class series. This is a new architecture designed fundamentally for full electric propulsion. The EQS meets the highest standards in the world in terms of luxury and safety, befitting a Mercedes flagship. It will provide the highest level of performance accepted in the luxury car segment and will allow customers to enjoy all the benefits of electric propulsion including: Maximum driving range of 770 km (According to the WLTP standard) which allows non-stop travel from Munich to Berlin or from the hall in Herzliya to Eilat and back, the power of up to 385 kilowatts (523 hp) and a new peak in aerodynamic efficiency – drag coefficient starting at 0.20Cd. All EQS models are equipped with an electric motor on the rear axle. The 4MATIC models have an additional electric motor that drives the front wheels and creates dual propulsion.

  • Model EQS 580 4Matic in Platinum Plus AMG Line EV finish at a price of NIS 1,390,000

EQS continues to implement Mercedes’ program, which aims to make the entire fleet of pollutant-free vehicles by the end of this decade. The company reports that by 2025 more than half of the cars will have full electric propulsion or rechargeable hybrid propulsion. Environmental considerations in the company’s plans rely on the widespread use of recycled materials down to the smallest details that include, among other things, the fabric hook used in the car carpets. EQS is already implementing this vision, with a significant reduction in components and raw materials, the use of recycled materials, such as pipes, cables made from recycled plastic, floor coverings made of ECONYL and the aluminum used in the hood.

The new generation of Mercedes electric cars is built on the basis of a flexible platform, which allows change in all aspects depending on the model designed, such as the wheelbase, axle spacer and location of the various components in the vehicle, and in particular the location and shape of the battery unit. The EQS comes with power supplies between 245 and 385 kilowatts. More versions will join later. EQS is also characterized by optimal energy recovery. In the manufacturing process, emphasis is placed on reducing noise and vibration, the concept thanks to the smart arrangement of magnets inside the rotors and inclined coils. The motor is wrapped in insulating foam and covered with a layer of three layers of different materials. The EQS chassis is uniquely built with axle support frames, a double floor for the battery assembly and a combination of acoustic foam. .

The EQS is offered with a new generation of batteries, developed exclusively by Mercedes at the battery factory set up by the company in Stuttgart. The new batteries have a significantly higher capacity and energy density than usual. The EQS offers batteries in two sizes, the largest of which has a capacity of 107.8 kilowatts / hour. The new battery presents a breakthrough in cell composition with a reduction in the cobalt rate to only 10%.

Many design elements in EQS contribute to aerodynamic efficiency and include the “single arc” design line (One Bow) With a low roof silhouette in the coupe style, an pointed front spoiler in the shape of an arrow, removable door handles that are swallowed up in the door wall while driving, a flat floor design for smooth airflow under the car and more. In addition, EQS offers wheel rims in a design that reduces air resistance.

The EQS comes with the MBUX Hyperscreen – The glass screen that stretches in front of those sitting along the entire dashboard. The MBUX Hyperscreen forms the brain and nervous system of the car, thanks to which it is connected to all the components of the vehicle and communicates with them. The system learns to know the driver better and in this way provides customized driving and entertainment capabilities.

The car is also equipped as an option with the HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Air) filter that optimally filters the outside air entering from the outside. The air is filtered by the internal air filter of the automatic climate control system. Sulfur oxides and nitrogen oxides as well as various odors are reduced thanks to the activated carbon coating on the HEPA filter and the internal air filter. The filter carries the “OFI CERT ZG 250-1” certification in the field of viruses and bacteria.

The Mercedes EQS includes a system of cameras and peripheral sensors as part of the driving assistance package that Mercedes considers necessary for safe autonomous driving. The package includes a LiDAR sensor, a rear window camera and microphones, which are especially useful for detecting the flashing blue lights and other special emergency vehicle signals.
