Chennai,- 30 lakh boxes of beer in ‘Tasmac’ shops last month due to rain in many districts; As many as 57 lakh cases of liquor, 87 lakh cases of liquor have been sold.
Tasmac stores average 48 lakh cases of liquor per month; 21 lakh boxes of beer are also sold.
Beer sales in August were 30 lakh cases and liquor sales were 52 lakh cases.
Many districts including Chennai received good rainfall in September. Due to this, the ‘drunken’ sons have drunk more than usual types of alcohol to cool down.
Consequently, the sale of liquor has increased to 56.80 lakh boxes in this month alone. Beer sales stood at 30.57 lakh cases.
In honor of Milady Nabi, today is a holiday for Tasmac stores. Due to this, yesterday as well as today, the sale of alcohol has stopped as the ‘drunkards’ have invaded to buy varieties of alcohol.
