Paris: PSG (1-0) beat Spanish club Real Madrid in the last minute of injury time in the first quarter of the Champions League.
With just minutes left in the match, Killian Mbabane scored PSG’s winning goal. The match was played at the PSG ground and was dominated by the hosts. But the excellence of Royal goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois often saved them.
In the 60th minute, the referee awarded a penalty in favor of PSG for knocking Mbabane into the Carvajal box. But Messi’s kick was blocked by Thibaut Courtois. PSG dropped Neymar after the goal was not scored. Mbabane scored the winning goal in the 94th minute from a Neymar pass.
The second leg will be played on March 9 at Real’s Santiago Bernabeu.
