Meta is bringing new features to Meta Quest’s v57 software, the company’s 3D immersion headsets and glasses. Big tech will increase avatar customization options, including hair, eyebrows and makeup, and will allow the cancellation of messages already sent.

Now, it will also be possible to choose the color of the hair and eyebrows, the skin tone and the way the character looks with makeup, “face paint” and other cosmetics. All of this will serve to give more diversity to the avatars, so that they represent the real people behind them.

Canceling messages
Another new feature of Meta Quest v57 will be the ability to cancel messages after sending. This will be used for messages in image format sent in virtual reality or through the Meta Quest application. According to the publication, this update will be available in Australia, Canada, Iceland, New Zealand, South Korea, Switzerland, Taiwan and the United States. To make it work, simply hover the mouse (whether in virtual reality or not) or, in the Quest app, click on the message and select the option “Cancel sending message”. The screen will show confirmation of the action and the other person will see the message referring to the cancellation, as already happens in other Meta apps, such as WhatsApp.
