Ormond Beach, FL – Metal Ninja Studios (MNS) is expanding its support for independent comic creators with the launch of Stage 2: IP Incubation, a novel program designed to guide creators through the often-challenging process of crowdfunding. The announcement, made on March 3, 2026, builds upon the foundation laid by the company’s Concept to Comic™ system, aiming to provide a comprehensive pathway from initial idea to published comic and beyond. This expansion comes as the demand for creator-owned comics continues to grow, and MNS is positioning itself as a key partner for artists looking to bring their visions to life.
The core of the IP Incubation stage focuses on leveraging Kickstarter, offering creators a structured workflow for planning, building, and executing successful crowdfunding campaigns. Recognizing that a finished comic is only part of the equation, MNS aims to equip creators with the tools and knowledge needed to build an audience and generate momentum before, during, and after a campaign launch. “Creators don’t just need a finished comic—they need a clear path to launch,” explained Joel Rodriguez, Founder and CEO of Metal Ninja Studios. “This second phase of Concept to Comic™ strengthens that path by adding audience development and IP incubation.”
Addressing Common Kickstarter Challenges
MNS identified several key pain points that often lead to Kickstarter failures – unclear campaign structures, inconsistent presentation, and a lack of pre-launch momentum. The IP Incubation stage is specifically designed to mitigate these risks through a multi-campaign strategy and a long-term approach to strategic decision-making. Rather than tackling each campaign in isolation, creators will receive guidance on building a sustainable strategy for their intellectual property.
Specifically, Stage 2 support includes assistance with Kickstarter campaign planning and setup, covering aspects like page flow, positioning, tier creation, and timeline management. Creators will too receive support in developing a community and social media growth strategy aligned with their launch goals, as well as guidance on campaign presentation to maximize clarity and conversion rates. Finally, MNS will provide execution support to maintain momentum throughout the campaign.
New Leadership to Drive Expansion
To support the launch of Stage 2 and enhance the quality of the Concept to Comic™ pipeline, Metal Ninja Studios has added two key team members. Robert A. Multari joins as Campaign & Community Lead, bringing a wealth of experience in crowdfunding and community building. Multari is the founder of Lone Wolf Comics, known for its interconnected “Lone Wolf Universe” featuring titles like Night Wolf and Snow Paw. He has successfully led numerous crowdfunding campaigns and cultivated a dedicated global readership.
“Our IP Incubation stage is designed to help creators show up with a campaign that’s structured, coherent, and built to convert interest into backers,” Multari said.
Eranga Devasurendra has been appointed as Art Director, bringing a distinguished background in illustration and cover art. Devasurendra’s operate has appeared on covers for major publishers including Dark Horse, Dynamite, and Scout Comics, and he contributed to the 25th Anniversary edition of Frank Miller’s 300. His role will focus on ensuring that all projects meet the highest professional standards, reducing barriers for aspiring creators.
“Quality is what makes a comic sense inevitable—like it belongs on the shelf,” Devasurendra stated. “My focus is helping creators hit professional standards consistently, from early production decisions through final campaign-ready presentation.”
A Growing Track Record
Metal Ninja Studios has already established a significant presence in the independent comic creation space. As of March 3, 2026, the company reports supporting 100+ creators, with 26 Concept to Comic™ projects in various stages of development (19 active, 7 completed). They have supported over 100 Kickstarter campaigns, contributing to 250+ comic titles and over 1,000 total comic projects. Notably, MNS emphasizes that it does not utilize generative AI in its art or production processes, ensuring transparency and accountability for creators.
