jpnn.com – Meta stated that it has relaxed US politician Donald Trump’s access to express himself and convey his opinions via Facebook and Instagram.

President of Global Affairs Meta Nick Clegg in a post on the official blog said the move was decided, considering that Donald Trump was again nominated in the US Presidential Election this period.

As a form of support for freedom of expression in political contestation, Meta decided to loosen Donald Trump’s access on his two platforms, namely Facebook and Instagram, after the figure had previously been suspended for quite a long time.

However, Meta emphasized that all political figures will follow the same community guideline standards, across its various services, including those related to regulating hate speech.

“All U.S. presidential candidates remain subject to the same Community Standards as all Facebook and Instagram users, including policies designed to prevent hate speech and incitement to violence,” Nick said.

Previously, the US technology company suspended Trump after January 6, 2021, due to Trump’s posts that caused chaos on Capitol Hill.

In early 2023, Trump was allowed back on Facebook and Instagram but was still placed in the penalty box.

Meta said at the time that further violative content could result in its account being suspended again for up to two years.
