Metro de Madrid will have a new stop on line 9 at Los Berrocales-Ahijones

by time news

The president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, has announced that the regional government has begun the procedures to tender the construction of a new underground Metro station on Line 9, located between the new urban developments of Ahijones and Los Berrocales , in the southeast of the capital.

The area is one of the next expansions of the city of Madrid. The City Council has given the green light in this legislature to the expansion of the two neighbourhoods, where thousands of homes will be built and which will now have the attraction of having an underground stop nearby.

The stop will be number 31 on an extensive line that runs from Paco de Lucía, in the north of the capital, and goes to the east to Arganda del Rey, in zone B3. It will be located between the Puerta de Arganda and Rivas Urbanizaciones stations.

On the other hand, in the same act, the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure of the Community of Madrid, David Pérez, explained that the works for the expansion of Line 11 of the Madrid Metro will begin in “a few weeks” and will start on the route that will connect Plaza Elíptica with Conde de Casal.

This line will become a great diagonal that will structure the capital from southwest to northeast and will unfold along three sections. The first of them will end with the Conde de Casal interchange, one of the four programmed by the Community.
