Crown Princess Mette-Marit Linked to Jeffrey Epstein in Newly Surfaced Emails

A newly revealed email exchange suggests Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway communicated with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, raising questions about the extent of connections between prominent figures and the disgraced financier. The correspondence, dating back to 2012, comes as scrutiny intensifies surrounding the individuals named in Epstein’s files.

The email, reported by the Daily Express’ Jon King, appears to have been sent from a redacted email address under the name “HKH Kronprinsessen” – the Norwegian title for a Crown Princess – to Epstein on October 21, 2012. The message dismissively described the 2012 wedding of Grand Duke Guillaume of Luxembourg and Stéphanie de Lannoy as “Boring wedding. Was like some kind of old movie where you know the characters and not hanging around for much [longer]. Books more books.” Epstein responded minutes later, writing: “Weather was too bad. I returned to NY. How was your wedding.”

These communications are particularly sensitive given Epstein’s history. He and his partner, Ghislaine Maxwell – currently serving a 20-year sentence – were involved in years of trafficking and grooming underage girls.

The potential fallout for Crown Princess Mette-Marit remains uncertain. She and her husband, Haakon, Crown Prince of Norway, married in 2001 in Oslo and share two children: Princess Ingrid Alexandra and Prince Sverre Magnus. A Norwegian news outlet has reported that Mette-Marit is mentioned “several hundred times” within the extensive Epstein files. Further compounding the matter, the Crown Princess reportedly spent four days at Epstein’s mansion in Palm Beach, Florida, in 2013.

Addressing the situation, Crown Princess Mette-Marit previously stated: “I deeply regret that, and this is a responsibility I must take. I showed poor judgment, and I regret ever having any contact with [Jeffrey] Epstein. It is simply embarrassing.”

Despite her past connection to Epstein, Mette-Marit and Crown Prince Haakon have continued to engage with other members of the British Royal Family. In 2018, the Norwegian royal couple hosted Prince William and Kate Middleton for a day of winter activities at the Holmenkollen National Ski Area in Oslo.

The Epstein files have already implicated other high-profile figures. Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was removed from his royal duties and stripped of his titles by King Charles III due to his association with Epstein and allegations of sexual assault. The current revelations regarding Crown Princess Mette-Marit underscore the far-reaching consequences of Epstein’s network and the ongoing scrutiny faced by those linked to him.
