Mette-Marit, Crown Princess of Norway celebrates her round! Almost a month after the 50th birthday of her husband, Crown Prince Haakon of Norway, she too has now reached half a century.

It’s a wonderful idea to pop the corks together: the royal birthday party is taking place in the castle on August 25th. By the way, this is also the couple’s 22nd wedding anniversary…

Mette-Marit is really looking forward to it. She told business daily Dagens Naeringsliv: “When you turn 50, you realize that life is not infinite. There is something good about old age, it conveys security. It doesn’t matter that much anymore what people think of me. Other things are more important.”

Other things – like her husband Haakon. Mette-Marit admits in the interview that she had to deal with “some challenges” when she met the crown prince. Exactly what she means by that is unclear.

However, the 50-year-old is known for her wild party past. “It was good that I got to know Haakon.” HE got his wife out of the misery back then.

Severe storms have raged in southern Norway in recent weeks. The result: dangerous flooding. State of emergency. Thousands of people had to be evacuated. After Queen Sonja (85), King Harald (86) and Haakon had already visited the affected families about a week ago, even Mette-Marit was there on Thursday!

She visited the affected areas in the municipalities of Hole, Ringerike and Søndre Land and spoke to the people who were evacuated to hotels, among other things.
