Salem: Due to shortage of coal, 840 MW per day power generation at Mettur Thermal Power Station has been affected.
Officials say the four units in the production unit there will require 12 to 14 tonnes of coal per day to generate electricity.
According to officials, the stock will be stored for at least 15 to 21 days.
