Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador has said he will submit a written proposal to the UN to set up a three-person commission to promote a five-year global ceasefire. Speaking about this, he said, “I will submit a written proposal to the UN to set up a three-man commission to promote a global ceasefire, and I hope the media will help us in this.” The Commission will be constituted by Pope Francis, UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Its purpose was that the three would meet and soon come up with a proposal to end hostilities everywhere and reach an agreement for a ceasefire of at least five years.

Thus governments around the world commit themselves to supporting their people. He said that the people who are especially affected by the war and its consequences, will live five years without tension, without violence and in peace. López Obrador has previously called for an end to hostilities. He also called on the three world powers namely China, Russia and America to seek peace. Due to their conflicts, they reportedly did not accept the invitation for more than a year.

According to López Obrador, they have fueled the global economic crisis, increased inflation, food shortages, increased poverty, and created a worse environment. Many have died due to this. That’s what they’ve been doing for the past year. I hope Russia, America and China will accept what we propose. In addition, the cease-fire helps to reach agreements on Taiwan, Israel and Palestine. And the agreement does not encourage conflict. It is possible to reach this agreement if all three of these governments are willing. He said that all the governments of the world should unite in support of the UN.
