Immediately, Alessandra Rojo de la Vega, who won the mayoral race, reproached the capital’s electoral magistrates for “kneeling” and announced that she will defend the “citizens’ will.”

“Unfortunately, some of the magistrates of @TECDMX have bowed to the whims of a family and have chosen to turn their backs on the citizens. A week ago, the same court ordered the recount of all votes cast in the mayor’s office, based on an appeal filed by Morena.

However, the Mexico City Regional Chamber of the Electoral Tribunal of the Federal Judicial Branch (TEPJF) revoked the recount, because it considered that the TECDMX should justify the agreement by which it ordered that all votes from the election in Cuauhtémoc be counted.

In the election of June 2, the candidate of the PAN, PRI and PRD, Alessandra Rojo de la Vega, obtained 156,436 votes (46.31 percent), while Caty Monreal won 145,014 (42.93 percent).
