The Electoral Tribunal of Mexico City (TECDMX) once again approved the total recount of the election in the Cuauhtémoc municipality.
This is to determine the validity of the results and who will be the next mayor of the Cuauhtémoc, yes Alessandra Rojo de la Vega o Caty Monreal.
Eduardo SantillanMorena’s representative at the Mexico City Electoral Institute, reported that the capital’s Court approved the vote recount again.
In case you missed it: Could the PILARES change their name to Utopías with Clara Brugada?
In addition to this he mentioned that his candidate, Caty Monreal has the support of the cherry party in Mexico City.

Immediately, Alessandra Rojo de la Vega, who won the mayoral race, reproached the capital’s electoral magistrates for “kneeling” and announced that she will defend the “citizens’ will.”
“Unfortunately, some of the magistrates of @TECDMX have bowed to the whims of a family and have chosen to turn their backs on the citizens. At this time, they will once again propose the illegal 𝐑𝐄𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐓𝐄𝐎 in #Cuauhtemoc, we will do everything necessary to defend the will of the citizens and ensure that their decision is respected,” he posted on X.

For his part, the President of the PAN in Mexico City, Andres Atayderegretted that the Court is seeking a recount of the vote that occurred in the Cuauhtémoc mayor’s office and shows support for Alessandra Rojo De la Vegaon candidate.
“We are experiencing a State Election, and, in addition, Morena is seeking to snatch by foul means what it did not win by fair means. From the PAN Mexico City we express our support for Alessandra Rojo de la Vega for everything that comes. As far as it goes,” reads his post from X
I regret that again the @TECDMX seek a full recount of the votes cast in the Cuauhtémoc Mayor’s Office: it turns its back on the popular will expressed on June 2 at the polls and violates the norm.

In case you missed it: After operation in Iztapalapa, 21 people were reported arrested in one week
A week ago, the same court ordered the recount of all votes cast in the mayor’s office, based on an appeal filed by Morena.
However, the Mexico City Regional Chamber of the Electoral Tribunal of the Federal Judicial Branch (TEPJF) revoked the recount, because it considered that the TECDMX should justify the agreement by which it ordered that all votes from the election in Cuauhtémoc be counted.
In the election of June 2, the candidate of the PAN, PRI and PRD, Alessandra Rojo de la Vega, obtained 156,436 votes (46.31 percent), while Caty Monreal won 145,014 (42.93 percent).
