Mexico confirms expropriation of French hydrogen plant

In a decree published this Thursday in the Official Gazette of the Federation, the Government of Mexico confirmed the expropriation of the French company Air Liquide’s hydrogen plant at the Petróleos Mexicanos Refinery in Hidalgo.

For reasons of public utility, the federal administration had temporarily occupied the plant since last December in the complex that operates within the Tula Refinery.

The expropriation is ordered in favor of Pemex Industrial Transformation (PMI).

The decree informs that “the immediate execution of this expropriation decree is ordered and, consequently, the definitive occupation of the U-3400 hydrogen production plant,” according to the document.

The French company did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
