World of Statistics shared a list with the Cities with the most homicides per 100,000 inhabitants worldwide; 9 of the first 10 are from Mexico and the remaining one is USA.
According to the crime incidence report of the Executive Secretariat of the National Public Security System, in Mexico were recorded from January to July 2024, a total of 25 thousand 513 homicides15 thousand 40 were intentional.
While the National Survey of Urban Public Security of Inegi (National Institute of Statistics and Geography) indicates that the 59.4% of the population in Mexico feels unsafe in your city.
Mexico has 9 of the 10 cities with the most homicides per 100,000 inhabitants worldwide
Based on data from the Citizen Council for Public Security and Criminal Justice of Mexico City, World of Statistics shared the Cities with the most homicides worldwide.
According to the above, 9 out of 10 cities with the most homicides per 100,000 inhabitants in 2022 belong to Mexicowhile the remaining one is from the United States.
These are the 10 cities with the most homicides per 100,000 inhabitants worldwide:
- Colima, Mexico
- Zamora, Michoacan
- Obregon City, Sonora
- Zacatecas
- Tijuana, Baja California
- Celaya, Guanajuato
- Uruapan, Michoacan
- New Orleans, United States
- Juarez, Chihuahua
- Acapulco, Guerrero
However, they are not the only ones Mexico present among the Cities with the most homicides worldwidesince the list also includes:
- Irapuato, Guanajuato, in 13th place
- Cuernavaca, Morelos, site 14
- Cancun, Quintana Roo in 29th place
For its part, the 2023 Global Peace Index also showed similar data, placing Mexico has the cities with the most homicides worldwide:

Violence in Mexico: States with the highest incidence of high-impact crimes from January to July 2024
Although it was not possible to locate the figures on which the list of the Cities with the most homicides per 100,000 inhabitantsyes they mention the States with the highest crime rate in Mexico.
The Citizen Council for Public Safety and Criminal Justice shared the states of Mexico that presented a higher incidence of crime in High-impact crimes from January to July 2024.

Regarding the wilful homicideone of the 14 high-impact crimes that were considered, Guanajuato has 1,432 cases opened from January to July 2024.
