Mia Martini and her Bagnara, that time she returned to sing in front of the sea

by time news

The critics’ prize of the Sanremo Festival since 1996 has been dedicated to the unforgettable Mia Martini.

A film from 1982, archived in Teche Rai of the Calabria headquarters, he tells it young but no less painful, who returns to his Bagnara. It was the beginning of the most difficult period and it was precisely the moment in which the bond with Calabria became stronger.

The darkest 7 years would begin shortly after, those of the silence of the big record companies and of the songs written by him, less known and perhaps more loved. Sergio Cammariere, the only Calabrian to win the critics’ prize dedicated to Mimì after her death, remembers those years and talks about the responsibility of having a plaque bearing her name.

In Bagnara even today every street talks about her and her poignant voice has not stopped resonating among the dark waves. A monument, a square, the alley, the house of her beloved aunt, the place where perhaps she truly felt herself.
