Dallas Cowboys’ Micah Parsons criticizes NFL officiating after loss to Miami Dolphins

On Sunday, the Dallas Cowboys suffered a heartbreaking 22-20 loss to the Miami Dolphins, with a 29-yard Jason Sanders field goal as time expired sealing the Dolphins’ win and erasing the Cowboys’ fourth-quarter comeback.

After the game, star linebacker Micah Parsons didn’t hold back in criticizing the NFL officiating. “It’s mind-blowing, the things that are getting called, the positions we get put in,” Parsons said. “We just gotta learn to fight the adversity and know a lot of it is BS. It’s football plays, but it’s the world we live in. We got the star on the helmet.”

Parsons’ frustration with the officiating was evident during the game, particularly after he was flagged for a roughing the passer penalty in the second quarter. The penalty ultimately led to a Dolphins touchdown. Parsons expressed confusion over the call, stating, “I don’t know what a roughing the passer is anymore. It’s just hard to play defense.”

This isn’t the first time Parsons has criticized NFL officiating. Earlier in the month, he called out officials for their lack of accountability and the absence of holding calls against opponents.

Parsons is not alone in his frustration with NFL officiating. Several notable figures, including Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and coach Andy Reid, as well as Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett, have also decried the quality of NFL officiating this season.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell recently addressed the issue, acknowledging the frustration of players, coaches, and fans while expressing a desire to “get it right.”

In the meantime, the Dallas Cowboys, along with Parsons and his teammates, will have to regroup and focus on their upcoming games as they strive to overcome the challenges posed by officiating.
