Michael Rapaport is questioning whether he’ll attend the upcoming Traitors Season 4 reunion, following a dramatic exit from the Peacock competition.
The actor hinted at potentially skipping the reunion, scheduled after the February 26 finale, during a recent interview.
“Well, I wanted to give you an exclusive here because it’s you. Now, I don’t know if I’m gonna come to the reunion to be totally honest with you,” Rapaport said on SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live.
Host Andy Cohen, who will also host the reunion, suggested Rapaport should be there, prompting the actor to add, “I don’t know. You know why, Andy? Because, you know, I feel like, you know, everybody got to know me. Like when people are like, you know, acting like I’m some freak, it’s offensive to me because we spent…”
Cohen pointed out that the reunion would be the ideal setting to discuss the events that unfolded with his fellow contestants, to which Rapaport responded he would have to “think about it.”
A Heated Exchange and Lingering Questions
Rapaport’s departure from “The Traitors” followed a contentious argument with former “Bachelor” star Colton Underwood, sparking debate among viewers.
Rapaport was a particularly outspoken contestant on the current season of The Traitors, and his exit came after a heated exchange with Colton Underwood. Rapaport made a comment to Underwood about knowing how to keep secrets, which many interpreted as a reference to Underwood’s previously undisclosed sexuality during his time on ABC’s The Bachelor. Underwood has publicly discussed his journey of self-discovery, and Rapaport’s remark was met with criticism from their co-stars.
“I’ll tell you. I didn’t know anything about his life, and I certainly, I didn’t know about some of the things that he’s been involved with. I would never bring that up. I wasn’t even talking about The Bachelor,” Rapaport explained. “I was riffing. I felt that he was a traitor. He had come out after Tiffany the night before. He was wrong. I thought it was arrogant as a traitor, not as a person. I felt like it was arrogant as a player on the show to try to ring lead after me, and I got defensive. I was riffing.”
He continued, “I was talking about conniving, colluding, cowardly, commiserating, and you know, the words lying, truth, secrets, fighting, dishonest, are thrown around all throughout that show, for its history, and the word that I used against him, secretive, you know, backfired.”
Rapaport stated he apologized to Underwood during the show and regrets the comment, adding, “I know what my intentions were. I know what my heart is. I am not, I was flowing. I was talking trash. You know, nothing was taken outta context. Like I said, I felt bad.”
The actor said he even contacted Underwood after filming wrapped and “had a great conversation.”
“He actually reached out to me Friday when the episodes aired to see how I was doing, so there’s not a beef and I’m not a perfect person,” he continued. “I’m not a malicious person. I know what kind of, what’s in my heart. All I could do is apologize. I certainly didn’t wanna bring any drama to him and his young family. I certainly didn’t wanna bring any drama to his life or to the show.”
Rapaport also addressed the viral “shovel-eating” memes that emerged following his time on The Traitors.
What exactly did Michael Rapaport say to Colton Underwood? Rapaport made a comment about Underwood knowing how to keep secrets, which was widely interpreted as a reference to Underwood’s past regarding his sexuality.
