33 years ago he gave Michael Schumacher his debut in Formula 1.Now Eddie Jordan announces: he has cancer.
Michael Schumacher’s former supporter Eddie Jordan has made it public that he has cancer. “I was diagnosed with prostate and bladder cancer in March and April.And then the cancer spread to the spine and pelvis,” said the 76-year-old on the “Formula For success” podcast, adding: “It was pretty aggressive.”
The Formula 1 legend from Ireland is going through a difficult time. “There were some very dark days, but I got out of them,” reported former team boss and team owner Jordan. He was Schumacher’s first boss in the premier motorsport class in the early 1990s.
In a joint podcast with former Formula 1 vice world champion David Coulthard, Jordan encouraged men to go for preventive examinations. “Don’t put something like this off, get tested! There is so much help out there to prolong your life. Don’t be stupid,” said Jordan. There is no reason to be ashamed of examinations or visits to the doctor; you should always be kind to your body.
Jordan indicated that he was feeling a little better now. He also made his serious illness public as former track cycling legend Chris hoy inspired him to do so. The six-time Olympic champion from Great Britain went public with his diagnosis of prostate cancer in October.
“It’s similar to me, but he’s a much younger man,” Jordan said of the 48-year-old.According to his doctors, Hoy only has a few years left to live.
