Michele Merlo, a 28-year-old singer and former competitor of “Amici”, died on 6 June at the Maggiore hospital in Bologna, where he was hospitalized. The artist had undergone surgery following a cerebral hemorrhage triggered by fulminate leukemia. Born on 1 March 1993 in the province of Vicenza, he became known to the public in 2017, when he participated in the sixteenth edition of Amici. The singer-songwriter presented himself with the stage name of Mike Bird and was eliminated in the semifinals. Over the course of the program he has repeatedly discussed with his coach Morgan. In between trials, she embarked on a romance with Shady, another student of the talent. In 2020 he was rejected from the selections for Sanremo Giovani.
