Tens of thousands of people were supposed to attend today (Monday) a performance by the Rolling Stones band at the Amsterdam Arena in the Netherlands, but a moment after the show began, the band’s lead singer Mick Jagger revealed that he is positive for Corona.

Jagger felt unwell in the morning and in a follow-up examination he was diagnosed as positive for the virus. The canceled show was scheduled to take place as part of a tour to mark its 60th anniversary. Later, the band is expected to perform in Switzerland, Italy and England.

The band said: “The Rolling Stones have had to cancel tonight’s concert in Amsterdam after Mick Jagger was diagnosed as positive after experiencing Corona’s symptoms upon arrival at the stadium. “The show has been postponed to a later date.”

Jagger apologized to the band’s Dutch fans on Twitter and wrote: “I’m so sorry we had to postpone the show in Amsterdam at such short notice tonight.” Unfortunately I just got stuck. We strive to reschedule as soon as possible and return as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience and understanding. ”

In April 2019 the Rolling Stones were forced to cancel a number of appearances after Jagger declared he was suffering from health issues. It was later revealed that he was rushed to a New York hospital, where he underwent surgery to replace a heart valve. Jagger will successfully recover from the major surgery and return to the stage only three months later. Band member Keith Richards told the Toronto Sun at the time: “He went through it (surgery) very easily. He’s in great shape. It looks like there was no problem at all.”
