Doha: Micro health laboratories with testing campaign to detect lifestyle diseases of expatriates in Qatar early and ensure health care. It is the 12th consecutive year that the diagnosis camp, which is very comforting for expatriates and low wage earners of various countries, is being held under the Micro Laboratory. Officials announced in a press conference that the camp will start on July 23 and continue till August 31.

When expatriates including Malayalis forget their own health in the midst of busy work and busy lives, Micro Health, one of the leading laboratories in Qatar, conducts a diagnosis camp to help identify and diagnose lifestyle diseases early. Micro Health Laboratories Consultant Pathologist Dr. Sukmani Reji said.

Various tests costing 500 riyals will be available for free at 50 riyals. The test package includes blood pressure, body mass index (BMI), diabetes, cholesterol-related lipid profile, blood urea, creatine, uric acid and SGPT. ‘Home sample collection’ will also work, where samples will be collected and tested at homes. The sample should be given after eight to 10 hours of fasting. Many expatriates have been able to get an early diagnosis through the examination camp conducted over the years and get relief from the disease through timely treatment. Sukmani Reji said.

About 8,000 expatriates including Indians and others came for inspection in previous years. She explained that 20-25 percent of them were diagnosed with various lifestyle diseases and 15 percent of them were not aware of their health condition earlier.
