Microsoft Copilot: New Upgrade with OpenAI’s GPT-4 Turbo Integration Announced

by time news

Microsoft’s AI-powered virtual assistant, Copilot, is set to receive an upgrade with the integration of OpenAI’s latest tools, including the new and improved GPT-4 Turbo. Yusuf Medhi, Microsoft’s EVP and consumer chief marketing officer, announced in a blog on Tuesday that the company has begun testing the integrations and the new features will be rolling out in the coming weeks.

The GPT-4 Turbo, announced at OpenAI’s first Dev Day, offers a larger “context window” and a later knowledge cutoff, allowing it to retain a greater range of information and deliver more informed insights to users. Microsoft claims that the integration of GPT-4 Turbo with Copilot will enable users to tackle more complex and longer tasks and receive better responses to their queries and needs via the virtual assistant.

Microsoft has been steadily churning out AI-infused products, but the financial success of these products has not always been guaranteed. Earlier this year, the company reported struggling to make money with its Github Copilot iteration, a coding assistant marketed to software developers. However, despite its popularity, the tool was extremely expensive to run.

With the growing arsenal of tools and integrations, Microsoft Copilot, which costs enterprise customers $30 a month, is expected to provide better value for its users. The upgrade promises to enhance the app’s usefulness significantly and revolutionize the way users benefit from AI in the workplace.
